収穫祭, harvest festival ; H-1

Tomorrow is my university's 119th (if I'm not mistaken) shukakusai which means harvest festival. Nodai is really famous for it's harvest festival, and this year, like the years before, the Indonesians get to have our own stand and sell Indonesian mie goreng! :)
yeay, i'm so excited, this is my first time. Today we went to the market and set put the tent, but unfortunately the weather in Tokyo isn't really great, today was 11 degree Celsius and its still autumn! the weather forecast even predicted that there will be typhoon for the next couple of days, but we're all hoping the weather forecast is wrong..

wish us luck, please :)

the best scene :)

the last two days i watched the latest episode of gossip girl. and after searching and searching for that clip of that scene, i finally found it.. :}
my favorite scene is only the beginning part though..

okay, so maybe for people that doesn't watch gossip girl there's nothing special about this scene, but if you know the story behind chuck and blair, this scene is the best! :')

"it was no one's fault. it was fate, tragedy.
if only many things didn't happen....maybe things would be different, but it's not.
you're holding on to the pain because it's all we have left, but we don't have to. we have a choice."
-Gossip Girl

the song choice was perfect too, now i can't get it out of my head. :) click here to listen.

rainbow ♥

i love the rain, i love the smell of wet soil, the cold but warm feeling i get in the inside..
but more than anything, i love rainbows ♥
today is a rainy day, not heavy rain, just a light shower, and the weather is great! Autumn is my 2nd favorite season after winter..hehe
anyway, i love rainbows so much that's why my blog's title has something to do with rainbows :)
i don't just like how beautiful a rainbow is, but also the philosophy behind it. its as if a rainbow is one of God's proof that after something bad, or sad, there will always be something better waiting for you. maybe that's why our tear drops are water and not snow..hehe, maybe, just maybe..
right now on this rainy day, i'm listening to this song, hoping that today i might see a rainbow :)

"who ever you are, where will you be?
are you the same old dreamer out there waiting only for me?
waiting for love? waiting for the same old dreamer on the other side?
hoping that no matter how far i am gonna find my way to you,
following a rainbow."

perahu kertas

Perahu kertas is one of my favorite books. It is written by Dewi Lestari (Dee) an inspiring Indonesian women. I got it as a birthday present from one of my best friends *thank you :}*. The book was actually really simple but not easy, it was smart but not difficult, sweet but not soggy, hehe, i know I'm so sorry, I might be really really bad with words, but i don't know how to quite describe it, you should read it for yourself and than you'll know what i mean.
You might have noticed that i'm a really melancholic type of girl with a really soft (no that's not right), easily touched (?) heart *lembek maksudnya aduh apa ya bahasa inggrisnya, tapi ga cengeng (not anymore that is), cengengnya cuman kalau nonton film sedih ajaa, hehe*. And this book touched my heart in so many ways..there's a lot of really good words and lessons i got from it, i liked it so much i even took pictures of it..too bad i left the book at home. and these are what I'd like to share :

quote #1 :
"Hati tidak pernah memilih. Hati dipilih. Hati tak perlu memilih. Ia selalu tahu kemana harus berlabuh. "
translation : "A heart never chooses, because it will be chosen. A heart doesn't need to choose, because it always knows where it should go."

if you think about it, it's really true. in ever situation there's always that little voice inside of you, but it's our decision to listen to it or ignore it. in the end if it was never meant to be, than it will never be meant for us. no matter how hard you try, no matter how hard you guard it, if it wasn't meant to be than you have to face it, let it go and prepare your self for a better answer. the answer that was meant to be. if you have to change who you are, than you know it wasn't destined to be yours.
quote #2
"Jatuh sedikit-sedikit, jangan sekaligus. Lebih baik tunggu sampai hatinya sembuh dan memutuskan dalam keadaan jernih, tanpa bayang-bayang siapapun."
translation : "If you fall its better to fall little by little, than to fall too hard at one time. It's better to wait until his/her (in this book's case it's his) heart has healed and decided in a clear condition, without the shadows of anyone else."

hmmm, if you're living in the shadows of somebody else than it's not worth it, you deserve to be yourself, to be happy and loved by the way you are, not by the way someone or something or some condition wants you to be. you deserve a happy life, a life you can call your own. and if by being yourself still didn't work out than don't force it to, it might not be your destiny. Let go, no matter how hard letting go might be, because if you don't, you'll never know what you've been missing out on. God doesn't give you what you want, but He gives you what you need, at the perfect time too. And if God takes something away from you, He promised that He will give you something better to replace it; cause in life, God will give you people that will hurt you, love you, to make learn and become the incredible person you were meant to be.

these are just my thoughts and some lessons i have learned in the past years and because of this book, it inspired *and reminded* me to write this, and so now, here it is, being shared with all of you.
i know life isn't easy for anybody, so i hope this has helped your life become a tiny winy bit better. :)

bedspreads ♥

Even though today wasn't that sunny, i don't know why but i felt like washing my bed spread, blanket, and towels. After it was dry, i cleaned my whole room and put on the clean bedspread. I know this is totally random, but i just wanted to tell you that i have a thing with new bedspreads, not new as in just bought, but new from the laundry or closet..i love sleeping in the smell of clean sheets, it feels so comfy, and somehow close to home. :) i know it sounds so weird, but i'm just wondering, is this just me or does anybody else has this feeling too?
I try to change my sheets as often as i can, every week usually, but still i never get bored with that comfortable feeling it gives me.

good night, sleep tight, can't wait to get to sleep. ;)

goody bag!

After a long and tiring jog alone while listening to monkey majik, i decided to reward myself with a cup of Starbucks frozen drink, hehehehe, since i only had 500 yen in my pocket so i wasn't really sure what i wanted but i went anyway. Starbucks was inside a book store named Tsutaya, so before i ordered i went to see some books first. After looking, and going round and round in circles, a small shelf caught my eye. It was a shelf full of goody bags, one of them were 500 yen, as much money as i had, and i dont know why, after thinking for about 15 minutes i decided to buy it! hahaha, dodol emang si dhilla!
but it was okay, and there were a lot of things inside it! emang sih ada beberapa yang ga penting, tapi entah kenapa ada rasa kepuasan sendiri aja..hihi
*oh yeah, and of course i didn't buy a drink, but i went home with a big smile on my face :}

bahasa, 語, language.

As usual I had class today and as my lecturer was talking i wrote down a quick note so that i wouldn't forget to include them in my presentation next week. I wrote in Indonesian : "Apa yg mau didpt dri org yg nontonnya apa dri presentasi kita."  Akira *my Indonesian friend* wasn't sitting very far away from me and read my note, and he said "Itu maksudnya apa dhil?" while taking my paper away. And after he said that i just realized how messy and totally wrong my Indonesian grammar is! Haha, we started to laugh. I wasn't using English grammar, or even Japanese grammar, it was a mixture of Indonesian, Japanese and English grammar put together. This is a picture of my note i was talking about.

Now I understand why my seniors always say that after living here for quite some time they get the languages mixed up. Living in Japan while having very minim Japanese ability, talking to Indonesians with Bahasa Indonesia, and having to communicate with friends all over the world with different English abilities is kind of a really fun challenge. Maybe my English didn't improve, my Japanese is getting a tiny winy bit better everyday, and my Indonesian is getting mixed up with all the other languages, but there are 2 abilities that are improving day by day. Body language and guessing. hehe :)
I really want to learn other languages, like Spanish and French, but i hope my Japanese will be much much ore better by than,

dear John

I just finished watching this movie! I was so so good, i just can't stand sad movies, for me a good movie is a movie that can make me cry..hehe
anyway, i really like these words from this movie :
"Time. Problem with that i learned was that whether it was those first two weeks i got to spend with you, or those final two months i got to spend with him..eventually time always runs out. I have no idea where you are out there in the world John, but i understand i have lost the rights to know these things long ago. No matter how many years go by, i know one thing to be as true as ever was, "I'll see you soon than"."

dear time, please be nice with me. :)

swimming vs ice cream

Today the weather forecast predicted that it would rain all day, but me and Edhika really really wanted to go swimming, so at around 12 o'clock we went anyway, and guess what, it didn't even rain..it was a good thing we went..hehe, after we swam for an hour we went home and passed baskin robbins, and we couldn't stand not to buy it so we went in and had a scoop..hehe, okay so maybe we didn't loose any calories, but still, it was a great day! :))
These are some pictures we took, now it's the Halloween edition of baskin robbins!

bestest best friends

:'(

I just watched episode 3 of glee season two, it wasn't one of my favorite episodes but it was really touching..It was about having a sick parent..it wasn't that sad actually, but i don't know why i couldn't stop crying..it made me think about my family back home..please, please, please dear God, give my family health, i'm too far away to take care of them, but please ya Allah, would you be so kind and take care of them for me?
please take care of everyone's family that is far away from them..because everyone is living life in fear of not being there at the times they are needed the most, so please, let us be there, and if not, let us know that You would be there instead..
Thank you :')

note to my best friend that has a sick parent :
be strong dear, don't worry, even though you're too far away, there will always be a greater strength watching over the people you love.. *big big hug*

YOU! the next generation's leaders!

This was actually a part of my report on ISS (the one i told you about in the earlier post) that I did for my Environment's class, but i liked it so much i want to share it here :)
I really liked the closing ceremony, it was done wonderfully by Dr. Salvador Catelo from University of the Philippines Los Banos. His speech was so inspiring. This is a quote and also a sort of summary I took from the amazing speech he gave us:
“No doubt the next decades will be equally if not more challenging. We have to adapt a more proactive posture to help save wtaer, land, environment, the earth it's self. We need to go beyond the usual attitude, and do our share no matter how small it is. But, we are optimistic for the future because we continue to see the spirit of new generations of leaders from every global partner university. At this young era I praise of knowledge, the senior author of this book. The book that I call, The ISS. He carefully, resolutely, and patiently cropped it, the forward of this book that sectored under the development of future leaders in agriculture, food and environment. And I’m preferring to Professor Akimi Fujimoto *a Professor at Nodai*.
There is a six letter word that more or less describes the essence of this book, and I call it "LEGACY". L stands for Labor that will erupt the labor part for creating innovative ways to make a difference to the next letter E, which I call Environment, The next letter G stands for Global, and A stands for Agriculture which is the starting point of everything, without no agriculture, there would be no food or industries. Second of the last letter is C for Complacency, our complacency in the past has came up to this point, we kept on producing for the future generations, but who will address this complacency? And that is the last letter Y, for Youth. And You, as the next leader and now as a student participant. Those among you who want to dream big and concur the world need to be focus and know what you want as early as possible. This is a true Legacy.”
I have had thoughts that I was studying the wrong major, which is agriculture, but now I am more and more surer that the future of  the earth is in the hands of agriculture, and I want to take my part starting from now, no matter how small it might be.

cinta tanah airku, INDONESIA :D

On the 29th of September until today, 1st of October, my university, Nodai (東京農業大学)and it's ISF members held the 10th International Student Summit (ISS). At the beginning there was a session about ISS members of the past, among them were two Inspiring Indonesian ladies, Mba Siti Jahroh and Mba Diastika, Mba Siti is a lecture at Bogor Agricultural University, while Mba Diastika had her undergraduate degree from Bogor Agricultural University, they were participants of the first ISS held. Both of them were given only about 8 minutes to tell us what ISS did to their lives. I don't know how to say this but they were both stunning in their own ways. And guess what, mereka juga pake jilbab, yeay! For me, it made me so proud, in Tokyo i'm so use to getting stared at weirdly, sometimes they even stop just to look at me from top to toe, and i can't say i'm always comfortable with that, dan iya, tentu saja mba Siti dan mba Diastika dipelototin sama semua orang, and they were looking at them with amazement. Mapres nya IPB juga dateng, namanya Purnawati Hustina, she was my senior in SMPN 4 Bogor, and she too wore a jilbab, and her presentation was amazing! Standing applause for you, Ka tina! :)
Me, and my friends; Edhika, Akira and Kiki also made a poster about Horta Doll, a project made by Bogor Agricultural University, dan di luar dugaan, banyak banget yang tertarik dan penegen beli, so we gave out the Hortas that we had. Bahkan ada salah satu sensei dan beberapa student lainnya yang dateng dan bilang  "Everyone from Indonesia was amazing!" Huaa, senangnyaa, jadi cinta Indonesia banget deh dla! Even though we are a minority, but it doesn't mean we don't stand out. :)
Oh iyaa, I almost forgot, even the chairperson is from Indonesia, her name is Ayu and she is also my roommate! She sure did a great job! Congratulations, roomie!
I'm so happy to be an Indonesian!! Yeay! yeay! Indonesiaaa~ ♥
this is from kak Tina's camera, tapi ga lengkap orang Indonesianya, ntar cari yang lengkap deh..
